5x new hotspots in The Hague (February 2026)
New doors opening, spaces getting bigger and a few short-term arrivals. Think all-day restaurants, bakeries and a handy kiosk nearby. These are the places to have on your list.
1. Birdflower Kiosk
After months of cycling past and peeking inside, the time has come. On Azaleaplein, Birdflower is opening a new, second spot: Birdflower Kiosk. You know the makers, Ziggy Douw and Clotilde Darras, from Birdflower on Weimarstraat. The kiosk is all about their baking sourdough bread, croissants, viennoiserie and sweet from their own oven. This new hotspot opens on Saturday 28 March and bakes only on Saturdays and Sundays for the first month. A nice new addition to the Bloemenbuurt.

2. HitchHike
TRIBE Den Haag Centraal, the recently opened hotel on Spuiplein, is home to HitchHike, the restaurant and heart of the hotel. The concept is all-day dining, from specialty coffee and creative lattes during the day to cocktails and dinner in the evening. The menu features light dishes and bites, including birria tacos and black prawn paella. The bar pours wines from California and cocktails with a nod to Baja. Even for those not sleeping at the hotel, this is a new hotspot to pop into.

3. Annabelle (Voorburg)
In January, Annabelle opened on the Herenstraat in Voorburg. The wine and gastro bar is owned by Rein and Willemien Rambaldo, also the people behind Miss Jones and Giorgio Rosa. The bar plays the starring role here, with lots of wood, warm materials and a loose, informal atmosphere. The menu features dishes with Mediterranean and French influences, from scallops with truffle to steak and garlic prawns. Just outside the Hofstad, but clearly a new name to remember.

4. EVE by Erik van Loo
In Paleisstraat, directly opposite Noordeinde Palace, EVE by Erik van Loo recently opened. Two-star chef Erik van Loo, known from Parkheuvel, is temporarily working here with his permanent team due to the renovation of his Rotterdam establishment. The concept is all-day, with no βfine diningβ label. Coffee and patisserie during the day, later lunch, a glass of wine or a cocktail, and dishes with a classic French base in the evening. Level cooking, in a Hague setting.

5. Brew & Bake
Recently on Spuistraat sits Brew & Bake, a new Japanese-Scandinavian micro bakery by Anil Soekhoe and Lucia Podmanicka-Soekhoe, known from Hop & Stork. The focus is on breakfast and lunch, with bread from their own bakery and specialty coffee. In the showcase are croissants, pain au chocolat, shio pan and buns with cinnamon or cardamom. All tightly and precisely made, in that typical Japandi style.
