1. Favourite restaurant

Villa Coucou

I only discovered Villa Coucou recently, but it already feels like a steady favourite. As soon as I step inside, it feels as though I’ve been transported to the South of France. The warm atmosphere, the beautiful interior and that lovely garden with its pétanque court instantly put me at ease, and the refined food makes it a place I always want to return to.

2. Favourite ice cream parlour

Piet Artisans of Flavour

A few weeks ago, I picked up an ice cream from Piet Artisans of Flavour – a real flavour journey in a cone. I went for halva and sticky rice mango: creamy, refined and completely different from standard ice cream. This isn’t just any old ice-cream parlour; it’s a real experience.

3. Favourite cocktail bar

Ultramarijn Wonderbar

As a jazz lover, Ultramarijn Wonderbar is without a doubt my favourite cocktail bar in The Hague. The combination of live jazz, an atmospheric maritime setting and the expertise behind the bar is unrivalled. Their Caipirinha Maracuja is exactly to my taste: tropical, elegant and perfectly balanced.

4. Favourite bakery

Philippe Galerne

Philippe Galerne is my favourite bakery. I often go there for artisan breads such as Pain de Campagne Noir and Tradition Céréales, which I finish baking myself at home. The baguettes are much more flavourful than supermarket bread. The éclairs are divine, and the friendly, knowledgeable service makes every visit extra special.

5. Favourite beauty salon

Dluxe Spa & Beauty

Dluxe Spa & Beauty almost feels like a second home to me. I go there regularly for a relaxing massage and a body scrub. That ritual really does help me to let go of tension. Everything is just right there: the tranquillity, the scent, the warmth. And the team know exactly what my body needs.
