Three months at Clockwise: what we discovered, what stuck with us

Over the past few months, we’ve been working from the Clockwise coworking space with our publishing company, Media Fresca. During that time, we worked on two new editions of Kingstreet Magazine, made new connections, and found a steady coffee routine at Two Hands café. Though we’ll be moving on at the end of the summer, we’ll look back on our time here with fondness. Wondering what made this such a great place to work? Keep reading.

The space that fits, just right

As a small team, Clockwise offered us exactly what we were looking for: a cosy office with enough privacy, without unnecessary extra space. And when our photographers or writers drop by, it’s easy to book a larger room. Whether you work solo or as part of a growing team, Clockwise offers flexible spaces that fit your needs.

Flexibility as the norm

What we also appreciate is how smoothly everything runs. Fancy a call without distractions? We just grab a Zoom booth. Want to brainstorm together? We find a spot at the shared tables. And when the weather’s nice, we simply move out to the terrace to enjoy some fresh air and a bit of sunshine.

Grow as you work

Clockwise is more than just an office. Every month, there are masterclasses, socials, and talks that combine learning, networking, and inspiration. During our time here, we’ve already experienced a range of events: LinkedIn masterclasses on DM sales with Jena Martis, coffee tastings with Giraffe Coffee (the same coffee you get from the free machines), and workshops like ‘Build a Brand That Speaks Before You Do’.

A warm welcome, each and every day

One thing that immediately stood out to us is how personal it feels here. Martha, Lenee, and Camiel at reception always greet you with a smile. Even if you’re only here for a few months, it feels like you truly belong. That makes it easier to feel at home quickly.

Team Clockwise The Hague

A location that increases work happiness

We cycle to Clockwise every day and park our bikes safely in the rack beneath the building. Getting here by tram from The Hague Central is just as easy — the stop is practically right outside the door. What makes the location even better? Clockwise is within walking distance of de Denneweg and the Frederikstraat. When we’re not at our screens, we love strolling to our favourite coffee spots, wine bars, and boutiques along these charming streets.

An international atmosphere that fuels your energy

What makes this place even better is its international vibe. You hear English just as often as Dutch, and companies from all over the world share the workspace. For us, working on both the Dutch and international editions of Kingstreet Magazine, that’s a real bonus. We practise our English, make international connections, and get inspired by chats at the bar in the shared kitchen.

No need to stress about lunch

Speaking of the shared kitchen: forgotten your sandwiches? No problem. At Two Hands café, barista Nathalia whips up fresh cappuccinos every day (yes, including oat milk for those who want it). In the mornings, there are yoghurts and croissants ready, and in the afternoons, fresh soup and filled rolls. That way, you can easily get through the day, even without bringing your own lunch.
