Impero Romano

In The Hague, we have so many nice restaurants. And a very varied selection. Difficult to choose, but I'll choose Impero Romano, which is where I have been coming for 20 years and where I met my wife Mariëtte. Always buzzing, Italian hospitality and conviviality. And the food is also of very good quality.

2. Favourite ice cream parlour

Italian Ice Cream

In summer, we often walk to the promenade and get an ice cream at Italian Ice Cream in front of the Kurhaus. My favourite flavour is their homemade pistachio ice cream. Super freshly prepared with bits of nut, it has a slightly salty flavour.

3. Favourite cake shop

Maison Kelder

At Maison Kelder, we used to often get palace banquet. A typical Hague pastry with a thick sweet pink stripe across the middle. Wonderfully tasty and, in my opinion, really a Hague concept. Sometimes we receive a large hazelnut cake at work from a very good relation. With delicious foam inside. Such a cake is meant for the staff after a successfully executed event in Kasteel de Wittenburg. We'll be feasting on that for days to come!

4. Guilty pleasure

Sucré Salé

Cycling early on Saturday morning to deli Sucré Salé. There you will find delicious French products and imagine yourself in la douce France for a moment. Besides the delicious croissants and pain au chocolat, I always take some goodies with me for lunch, such as rillettes, a baguette and some French cheeses.
