9 x hotels in The Hague you'll want to stay at

In The Hague, everything is close together. The city, the beach, cafés and shops. First into the city centre and then towards the sea. And then the question: where will you sleep? From small-scale boutique hotels to well-known names. These are places where you check in and don't really want to leave.

1. Hotel Pistache

In the middle of Zeeheldenkwartier sits Hotel Pistache. A boutique hotel with nine suites, all with a work corner and often a small kitchenette. No lobby or restaurant, but you won't miss that. Get your breakfast at Café Blossom and then walk straight to the beach, city or Denneweg.

2. ADAM + EVE

Sleeping on Willem-Alexander's driveway sounds exaggerated, but that's just the case here. On Paleisstraat, opposite Noordeinde Palace, you sleep above EVE by Erik van Loo in one of ten suites. After a day in the city, you don't need to go anywhere else. Downstairs, you dine at star level and then walk right back upstairs.

3. Van der Valk Wassenaar

A familiar name, but just different. Van der Valk Wassenaar has received a major update in recent years, with 225 refurbished rooms and sustainability as a common thread. 380 solar panels on the roof, a vegetable garden and reuse of food waste show what the hotel is now betting on.

4. Staybridge Suites The Hague

For those not leaving after one night. Staybridge Suites focuses on long stays, and you notice it right away. All 101 rooms have their own kitchen and there is a launderette in the hotel. The atrium hosts a social hour three times a week and breakfast is simply included in your stay.

5. The ALD Hotel

A hotel with a story. The ALD sits in the former state printing office, right in the middle of the city. The hotel has 91 rooms, from high ceilings to maisonettes and studios with kitchenettes. Subtle references to the past can be seen everywhere. With cocktail bar INK'D inside the hotel, you'll end the day right here.

6. Carlton Ambassador

Quiet overnight, but close to everything. Carlton Ambassador is on the corner of Zeestraat and Sophialaan and is known for its warm, intimate atmosphere. The rooms combine classic details with comfort and the Sophia restaurant is all about French dishes with a modern twist.

9. Townhouse The Hague

Here, it immediately feels different. Townhouse calls itself a ‘Hague house’ and it shows. No classic lobby, but an all-day café where you can go for coffee, flan or something to eat. With 88 rooms and the city centre around the corner, this is the place to be.
