5 x new hotspots in April (2026)
From a pop-up where art and food come together to a new restaurant on the Zuiderstrand. These five new hotspots showcase what is currently opening in The Hague.
1. Dineum
Food as an art form is the starting point of this new hotspot. Dineum is a new pop-up concept by food artist Charly. With a background in Storytelling Design at TU Delft, she moves between gastronomy, performance and storytelling. Her aim is to make people look differently at what is on their plate and how they taste it.
You notice that immediately. Instead of a fixed dinner, visitors move through a series of installations that you not only experience but also eat. Each space has its own theme and dish, where presentation and flavour merge.
What you will eat, remains a surprise. The makers do reassure guests that insects are not on the menu. What is on offer is only revealed once you allow yourself to be carried along by the story. Dineum is for those who are up for experimentation and experience, and for anyone looking for an evening out that is as stimulating as it is delicious.

2. Galanthus
Galanthus, a new fine dining restaurant by chefs Titus Jansen and Kevin Han and maître Simone Beerkens, who previously worked at starred establishments such as De Librije and FG Restaurant, will open at the end of April. For Jansen, cooking feels like an extension of his previous work in the ballet world. “A good dinner is like a performance. Everything has to be right, from construction to timing and experience.”
That approach is reflected in the concept. The cuisine is internationally inspired, but centres on a single set menu of €99 based on Dutch seasonal produce. The dishes are carefully composed, with attention to technique and balance, without becoming heavy or overly formal.
The open kitchen allows for interaction, and the service also plays a clear role in the overall experience. Galanthus aims for a high level, while maintaining an atmosphere that remains accessible, where the experience is just as important as what is on the plate.

3. Haagse Bakzaken
At Haagse Bakzaken, by Heel Holland Bakt finalist Susan Veninga, it is all about doing it yourself. This new hotspot is not a shop where you simply pick something up, but a studio where you learn to bake and understand what is happening.
In workshops, you work in small groups on bread, pastries and other sweet and savoury creations. You learn techniques you can apply at home and gain insight into ingredients and processes. Alongside the regular programme, there are themed sessions, such as cake painting, as well as collaborations with other makers. This keeps the programme dynamic, with always something new to discover.

4. Baronetto
The name Baronetto means ‘young baron’ and refers to a playful, contemporary take on Italian cuisine. Behind the concept is chef Francesco Frasca, known for, among other things Impero Romano. At Baronetto, he brings together classic Italian dishes with influences from Piedmont, the region where sophistication and simplicity go hand in hand.
Think of paccheri with prawn cream and seafood, tajarin with sage and truffle, or a lasagne with traditional Langhe meat ragù. Everything is focused on pure flavours and quality ingredients, with dishes that pair seamlessly with the extensive wine selection.

5. Mala Beach
At Zuiderstrand, the new hotspot Mala Beach is opening, a beach pavilion where food and relaxation come together in a setting that shifts with the rhythm of the day.
The kitchen is French-inspired with Mediterranean influences. During the day, the focus is on lunch and lighter dishes, while the menu becomes more extensive towards the evening. Its location on the quieter part of the beach creates a more relaxed atmosphere, with space to linger as the day turns into night.
