1. Favourite restaurant
Le Café

Walking into this intimate, cosy restaurant in the heart of the city centre immediately makes me feel calm and at home. The menu is handwritten on a blackboard, which they will then present to you once you’re settled in and are ready to order. The food, French, is always lovingly prepared and delicious, and they can always recommend a good wine based on my mood!

2. Favourite record shop
Bert's Records

Ahhh records, my life’s passion (after my beautiful family, of course!).Burt is a friendly, knowledgeable man who mainly sells used records – a broad selection of many types of rock, soul, Indie and other genres. It’s an absolute pleasure to sift through the many sections looking for my latest fix, be it early 70’s Krautrock or roots reggae!
📍Stationsweg 7
3. Favourite bar
Café de Oude Mol

There’s a theme here, which is that the Oude Molstraat and indeed the Molenstraat are two of my favourite streets in The Hague! De Oude Mol serves a small but good selection of beers and wines in a beautifully lit and lovingly decorated bar, which somehow always makes me think of Wes Anderson’s films.

4. Favourite view
Lange Voorhout

Stunning, especially in spring and autumn. I don’t walk there often enough but love it when I do! The avenue is lined with the most beautiful trees (lime trees, Google tells me), which are particularly breathtaking in September and October!
5. Favourite spot
Zuiderpark

Such an underrated park! We often bike around to soak in the changing seasons and what they bring. Asian trees that blossom in spring, autumnal colours, ice skating in the winter months. We picnic at nearby playgrounds and enjoy an ice cream in the summer!
