W<\/span>ine is one of the most acclaimed beverages. Not surprisingly, then, Ruben Dorland, owner of The Wine House in Nieuw Kijkduin, affectionately calls the stock displayed up to the ceiling in his wine shop, with open passage to his restaurant and Wine Bar, 'my wine library'.<\/p>\n

'At The Wine House you really get a living room feel'<\/p><\/div>\n

The Wine House is a trendy concept with a Wine Bar, tasting room and subsequent wine shop. The mix of impressive menu ('wine-food' principle), quality and intimate atmosphere ensures a nice experience for young and old. Last month, he opened The Wine House Westland in Naaldwijk.<\/p>\n

Owner Ruben Dorland himself also enjoys his business every day.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"It's very transparent,\" explains the ambitious Hagenees. \"You can choose your own wine in our wine shop for at home or a matching wine with one of our dishes to enjoy in our restaurant. Furthermore, you can wine with 'shared dining' dishes, but you can also opt for classic cuisine, from a sole to a chateaubriand with a good glass of wine alongside.<\/p>\n

The Wine House<\/h2>\n

Open seven days a week from early morning until late at night, The Wine House in Kijkduin is accessible for just a drink, a bite to eat or really a night out. You can also join us for wine tastings and private dining in our wine shop or in our tasting room on the mezzanine. The business has been running well beyond expectations since the doors opened in July 2021. When you sit in The Wine House, you really get a living room feel. When you have lunch, dinner or drinks at the bar, you can talk one-to-one with the sommelier behind the bar and watch the cocktails being made. Throughout the restaurant, the staff take you into our wine world and lovingly let you taste every possible wine and food.\"<\/p>\n

The interior of The Wine House looks warm, chic and industrial, with olive green velour sofas, brown upholstered chairs and accents of marble and copper. Dorland: \"We deliberately left many details as robust after construction. In combination with the furnishings and the jazzy lounge music in the background, this creates a nice atmosphere. It should be such that when you walk into The Wine House, you don't have to think anymore. From escorting you to your table, starting with an aperitif to dessert, everything is prepared for you. All you have to do is sit back and let it come to you. We take care of everything.\"<\/p>\n

New Kijkduin<\/h2>\n

The Wine House has ninety seats inside and eighty seats on the terrace. How did Ruben Dorland end up in Nieuw Kijkduin? \"Starting my own business was always my dream. I myself have been working in the catering industry since I was young. From starting out in the sink kitchen to working in the hippest and most beautiful establishments at all levels. So working hard and enjoying a lot is always my motto. Two years ago, this corner became vacant and it perfectly matched what I had in mind. The advantage here were the run-up, the parking and the beautiful neighbourhoods around New Kijkduin.\"<\/p>\n

\"It is not a boulevard business, but a promenade-level business. The concept appeals to a broad national and international market and we try to use it to keep the threshold for our guests as low as possible. The inspiration comes mainly from Spain, Italy and America. Everything that happens here is what I personally expect in terms of service and experience.\"<\/p>\n
