Regentessekwartier has seen an increasing number of interesting businesses settle in recent years. It is time to give these upcoming<\/em> neighbourhood a little better.<\/p>\n

While you're there: be sure to walk along the most beautiful stretch of Regentesselaan, between Regentesseplein and Laan van Meerdervoort, and admire the beautiful historic buildings. Definitely one of the most beautiful avenues in The Hague.<\/p>\n

Bar Bowie<\/strong><\/h2>\n

We should have waited months, but the time had finally come: in mid-October, the promising Bar Bowie opened its doors on the chic Regentesselaan. Less than a month later, this wine bar has already been renamed the hotspot of the neighbourhood. That they know how to do it here is immediately apparent: Bar Bowie<\/a> is a beautiful eclectic-style establishment with an atmospheric ambience, where once you are seated you just don't want to leave. Here you will enjoy Mediterranean cuisine with matching wines from a very extensive wine list. Fancy an evening at this neighbourhood bistro? Don't forget to make a reservation!<\/p>\n

Emma's Court<\/strong><\/h2>\n

This hidden urban garden really is the undiscovered gem of Regentessekwartier. Emma's Hof - entirely designed and maintained by volunteers - is a beautifully landscaped courtyard garden full of flowers, plants and fine seats. Sink into one of the comfortable garden chairs, chat with a local resident or read a book on the colourful Gaudi-style mosaic bench. Emma's Hof is a nice place to rest. With all the silence around you, you almost forget you are in the middle of The Hague.<\/p>\n

Pompernikkel<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The delicious smell of sourdough bread, croissants and other pastries meets you as soon as you reach the Pompernikkel<\/a> step over the threshold. At this bakery in Regentessekwartier, everything is made with love (and organic). Here they love simplicity, but also choose only the best of the best. Take a seat inside or outside on the terrace, or opt for takeaway and eat your lunch at Emma's Hof (about 4 minutes away!).<\/p>\n

The OP frog - shop<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The OPkikker is really one of those shops to browse around. If you are looking for a nice gift, you should definitely drop in here. From tableware to fun art objects and from home accessories to small furniture: owner Marjolein Raaphorst - born and raised in The Hague - chooses all products with great care and sustainability in mind. Many of the items come from small workshops. The range changes regularly, so it is definitely worth visiting more often. To be found at Regentesseplein.<\/p>\n

Caf\u00e9 Emma<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Located in the heart of the district is Emma<\/a> for many locals the place for a Friday night drink. A cosy caf\u00e9 for those who like not too much fuss. This is where you start your day with coffee and cake or toast the weekend with your friends. It is open all day and always busy. On nice days, the terrace is a great place to sit in the sun.<\/p>\n
