The Hague - Part-time - Editorial / Social / Events

For our The Hague-based publisher Media Fresca and media brands Kingstreet - active in both Dutch and English - we are looking for a editorial jack-of-all-trades. This is a versatile position that brings together editorial, social media and event organisation.

In this role, you will develop creative formats and bring stories to life through social media, video and online storytelling. You will also be involved in the organisation and execution of events, which are an extension of our brands.

Work

Editorial & social

  • Develop and produce editorial and visual content for social channels
  • Translating magazine stories into online formats
  • Managing the content calendar and monitoring planning
  • Ensuring the tone of voice and visual identity of the brands
  • Analysing data and optimising content based on insights
  • Collaborating with chief editors on planning and content development
  • Providing bilingual newsletters
  • Updating the website
  • Web copywriting

Events

  • Thinking along on concept and interpretation of events
  • Coordinating with locations and external parties and monitoring oversight
  • Drafting and sending out invitations
  • Managing guest lists and liaising with invitees
  • Act as point of contact during events and ensure smooth running
  • Rapid reaction to unexpected situations
  • Creating content before, during and after events (mood impressions, highlights, interviews)

Support chief editor

  • Scheduling appointments and taking care of e-mail, mail and telephone handling
  • Support daily editorial work

Profile

  • HBO or WO working and thinking level
  • Experience in social media, content creation or digital editing
  • Affinity with video and social formats (such as reels and short-form content)
  • Excellent command of Dutch and a feel for tone of voice
  • An eye for images, timing and storytelling
  • Independent, structured and able to combine multiple projects
  • Curious and proactive
  • Experience with tools such as Mailchimp, Canva, WordPress and Excel
  • Living in (the vicinity of) The Hague
